As God is sovereign and in control of everything I would have to admit that He can in fact speak through signs in nature. He might not be directly speaking through it in some judgment, but he is always indirectly speaking through creation.

Romans 1:20 tells us that God’s invisible attributes are revealed to, and can be understood by, the world through His creation.

I have a feeling that when this question is asked, it has more to do with God directly speaking through acts of nature, or ‘Acts of God’ as the insurance companies would call them.

As with any such question, our first stop should always be the scriptures. We can have many feelings, and opinions on such matters, but he Scriptures are we go to find out what God has revealed to us about Himself. The Bible thoroughly documents God using pestilence, famine, disease, drought and war to bring judgment on people groups. As God is the same today, as yesterday as forever (cf. Heb 13:8) and He remains unchanging, I think we would be foolish to assume He doesn’t or would not react in similar ways to countries and cities today.

In 1965 Billy Graham showed a chapter from the manuscript of his new book “World Aflame” to his wife Ruth. The chapter in question documented and vividly described the sinful conditions in America. After reading the chapter Ruth declared, “Billy, if God doesn’t come soon and bring judgment upon the United States, He’s going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!”. This same statement was later reiterated in 1976 by Dr. James Kennedy at the National Prayer Congress in Dallas, Texas. Now remember that declaration was made in 1965! Oh how far the nations of the United States and Canada have fallen since then. I’m sure Ruth Graham could never have imagined how much farther we could sink into moral decline – and yet here we are.

Preachers and commentators have many times received bad press over their declaration of natural disasters being the cause of God’s judgment. Of recent recollection was in 2005 when Jerry Falwell suggested that Hurricane Katrina was God’s judgment on Louisiana. There was quite a lashback from both the secular and Christian world for such a declaration. And although this can sometimes be sensationalist preaching, there is some merit to the declaration.

Job 38 declares God’s sovereignty over all the earth. In His dialog with Job God reveals that He is the master of the animals, wind, waters, weather and everything in the earth. The question of whether or not CAN do it, is not valid. For God clearly can. The real question is ‘Would He do it?’ I would say the evidence is there that He would, and does.

  • Noah’s Flood (Gen. 6)
  • Hail for Judgment (Exodus 9:18; Job 38:22; Psalm 78:47-48; Psalm 105:32; Hag 2:17; Rev 16:21)
  • Frost (Psalm 78:47)
  • Storms (Psalm 78:48;
  • ‘I will heap disasters on them” (Deut 32:23-25)
  • Pestilence, Famine, Wild Beast, War (Jer 14:12; Jer 24:10; Jer 29:17-18; Ezek 5:17)

An interesting tidbit is found in Ezekiel 14:21 where God documents what he calls his ‘four severe judgments’: The sword(war), famine, wild beasts and pestilence. These same things are echoed in 3 of the horsemen of the apocalypse. (cf. Rev. 6:1-5)

  • Red Horse – (1)War
  • Black Horse – (2)Famine
  • Pale Horse – (4)Pestilence, death, (3)beasts of the Earth.

This tells us that assuredly God will use these same four judgments mentioned again and I think we’d be fooling ourselves to think he doesn’t exercise some of this right now.

The very intriguing book Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel (published 2008) by White House Correspondent, William R. Koenig, proves many disasters befalling America come in direct and immediate response to George H. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush's devotion to robbing Israel of their God-given land. Koenig documents that the following incredible facts occurred because of the U.S.'s pressure to remove Israel from their covenant land:

  • Nine of the ten costliest insurance events in U.S. history
  • Six of the seven costliest hurricanes in U.S. history
  • Three of the four largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history
  • Nine of the top ten natural disasters in U.S. history ranked by FEMA relief costs
  • The two largest terrorism events in U.S. history

The documented events in this book are too coincidental to ignore. Bill Koenig provides undeniable facts and conclusive evidence showing that indeed the leaders of the United States and the world are on a collision course with God over Israel’s covenant land. The declaration of God in Genesis 12:3 is a loud and clear warning for today.

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." - Gen 12:3

For myself, the answer to this question lies in the history of precedence. We have strong evidence that God has, and will do these things as judgements upon the world, so I have to conclude that He currently is as well.

  • Can people be Saved After the Rapture?

To understand the question at hand, and the existance of Tribulation Saints after the rapture we need to understand the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the body of Christ. This relationship began on the Day of Pentacost when the Holy Spirit (the comforter) came to earth as Christ had promised. The idea is not necessarily a complicated one, but

What does Christ Say? Mark 9 43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend

Isa 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. • Is it possible to follow the ideas of Buddhism and still be a 'Proper' Christian?

Answer: NO. (Matthew 6:24 ESV) “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. You cannot devote your self to two conflicting belief systems, either you will hate the one and love the other,

Answer: Because you are not good enough, through Adam sin and the knowledge of good and evil has been passed down to all mankind. Now this may seem like a harsh and depressing reply, so let me explain further with scripture. (Romans 3:10-12 ESV) as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one no one understands no one seeks

  • Can God Create a Stone He Cannot Lift?

That’s quite a question. And a question that is often asked by atheists and those outside of the Christian faith in attempts at creating a paradox that would seem to suggest the concept of God is impossible. It is also sometimes asked by those who are Christian because it does appear to have a paradoxical answer. The answer seems to be

  • Did God Create Evil?

Did God Create Evil? Evil is not actually a created thing. God did not create evil. Evil is simply the lack of good. Darkness is not a created thing. Darkness is the lack of light. You cannot shine darkness into light and overcome it. Darkness does not shine into your lit up house at night when you open the blinds.

Yes I sure do. The visions of the statue from Daniel 2, the beasts from Daniel 7 and the final beast from the sea of Revelation 13 makes it very clear that the final empire on the world stage - prior to Christ setting up His never ending kingdom - is a reborn Roman Empire. • How do you interpret Daniel 12:4?

I have always interpreted Daniel 12:4 simply by the plain reading of the text. Of course we can not gain understanding of one simple passage unless we read it with the surrounding texts so we have to look at the surrounding passages to give clarity to this one verse. Daniel 12:1-4 tells us of a time when Michael the Archangel

  • How do you interpret Matthew 24:32-35?

Probably a little differently than others you may ask this same question of. Many prophecy commentators would relate this set of passages directly to the rebirth of Israel.
